The ex-politican Karl-Heinz Grasser called on the Austrian minister of Justice Wolfgang Brandstetter to examine the Buwog case himself. The trial about the privatisation of 60.000 flats is lasting since seven years. Gasser is accused of the manipulation of the privatisation process. It is unlikely that Brandstetter gets involved personally.

Politician Walter Meischberger was acquitted in Vienna Regional Criminal Court on charges of complicity in embezzlement in connection with a 600,000-euro bill. The same applies to the two co-accused UBM Manager.

In the case against the lobbiest Walter Meischberger it could not be proven that the 600.000 Euro payment was bribe. The sentence is expected on Wendsday. Additionally a discussion about the jury started as one is affiliated with the lawyer of another defendant in the trial.

Because Walter Meischberger received a 600.0000 comission from the property developer UBM (UBM is a former Porr subsidiary) via a fake bill in June 2005, the lobbyist and former FPÖ general secretary was on trial. Despite doubts he was acquitted. Now the prosecutor objected the sentence.

In 2009 the two lobbiysts Walter Meischberger and Peter Hochegger reported themselfes to the authorities as they did not pay taxes for a 10 Mio. commission. The payment is connected to the privatisation of 60.000 flats in 2004 by Buwog, an austrian real estate company. Since the reportingthe whole privatisation process is part of a trail and was the reason to found a prosecution which is specialised in corruption and economic offences.
