US minister of Justice and head of the prosecution Loretta Lynch announced the accusation of 16 Fifa officials for corruption. In the press conference Lynch called the dimension of the corruption immense and the behavior of the accused brazen. At the same time Fifa met for a congress to discuss reforms.

Adidas Herbert Hainer appreciated the intention for reforms at Fifa. Adidas, as a major sponsor of Fifa, together with McDonald's, Coca-Cola, Visa and Anheuser-Busch called for a change in the culture of the football federation as recently several corruption scandals got public.

The suspended Fifa president Joseph Blatter stressed his innocence in a letter to the members of the federation. Fifa's ethic commission has suspended Blatter for 90 days because of a dubious two Million Swiss Franc payment to, as well suspended, UEFA president Michael Platini. The final sentence of the Fifa officials is expected at 21th December.

Ethic commission of Fifa suspense its president Joseph Blatter and UEFA president Michel Platini for eight years. According to the conviction Platini and Blatter are guilty of conflict of interest and violation of code of conduct. Platini had received 1,8 million Euro from Blatter though bribery and corruption could not be proven.

During the investigations against Fifa concerning bribery and corruption 13 bank accounts with 80 Million US-Dollar got blocked by Swiss officials. Also additional information were sent to the US were the main process is taking place. Former executive members Ricardo Teixeira and Rafael Salguero (Guatemala), the ex president of the Brazilian football federation Marco Polo del Nero and 13 other Fifa top officers are being accused in the case.

Fifa's former vice president Eugenio Figueredo has confirmed the existence of a corruption network in South America. Shortly after his extradition from Switzerland to Uruguay he was sent to prison for corruption and money laundering but then released to a hospital as he suffered from heart problems.

The Union of European Football Association (UEFA) has not yet decided on its choice for the next president of Fifa. After the suspension of president Michel Platini UEFA general secretary Gianni Infantino and French Jeorme Champagne are possible European candidates. Fifa is in crises caused by several corruption scandals. Before the meeting again the two top officials Juan Angel Napout (Paraguay) and Alfredo Hawit (Honduras) got arrested.

Former FIFA President Sepp Blatter, former Secretary General Jérome Valcke and his deputy Markus Kattner made synchronised steps to increase their wealth through salary increases, bonuses and other constructions,alltogether 80 million dollars.

The commission of Fifa has reduced the suspension caused by the suspicion of corruption of its president Joseph Blatter and UEFA boss Micheal Platini from eight to six years. Both were disappointed and will contest the punishment at the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS). The ethic commission of Fifa were unsatisfied as well. It called for a live-long suspension of Blatter and Platini.
